Region is made up of the City of Ottawa and the surrounding areas,
including parts of the provinces of Ontario and Quebec and 28 municipalities.
It covers an area of 4,662 square kilometers in size, and has the
fourth largest population in Canada with over 920,000. Ottawa boasts
the finest in Canadian arts, culture and history. It has 29 museums
within its boundary, 12 of which are exhibiting national treasures.
It is also the home to over 1,000 associations and over 100 embassies
and diplomatic missions. In Ottawa, there are over 60 festivals, including
the internationally recognized Winterlude and Canadian Tulip festival.
Development and beautification has been the sole target of the capital's
future struggle.
